This year Letterbox Day Nursery brings something new to the community. We are branching out from our daily and sessional care of children aged birth to five years, to open an out of school provision providing after school care during term time and a holiday club during school holidays, for children aged 4-8years.

After School Club runs through the academic term catering for children aged 5-8 years old. The club is from 3pm-5:30pm Monday to Friday with a pick up included for most local schools, please contact us for details.

Holiday Club

The holiday club runs over most school holidays with the exception of the Christmas break. As with the After school club the Holiday club can take children aged 5-8 years for a full or half days care from 8:30am-5:30pm

So what’s planned for the holiday club?

Dancer for the day

Previously a huge success, Sophie a professional dancer visited the setting, she talked with the children about her job and taught them a dance routine which was recorded so that they could show the grown ups at the end of the day. 

Pirate day

A new event planned to stimulate young minds, the children can dress up, have their faces painted like pirates and learn the lingo. Then they follow the clues and treasure maps to find the treasure that has been buried on the beach! AHH ha me hearty!

Science and discovery

Scientist Steve will help the children to make exploding volcanoes, bottle rockets, parachutes and rock pool dipping, all in the name of science of course! 

Picnic in the woods

A wonderful day out in the local woods, exploring and learning about nature, followed by lunch and the telling of the classic story of the Gruffalo.
